Flattering or Insulting or just plain Annoying? Pico Posers!
I asked some of my friends who you all know to be very famous to say a few words on the subject of posers. Impostors pretending to be us. And they were great enough to accept my request. So without further ado here are some of your favorite picos here to share their experiences with an impostor, feelings on copycats, or what you should do if you have a copycat/what they did when they had a copy cat.
A word from [♥]Breezy[♥]...."They [my posers] weren't the nicest bunch. However, my friends supported me, and I got through it. Now that I've been through it, this is what I can tell you to do: First off, talk it out with them. Sometimes they can be understanding, and you can get them to change back. If they aren't, however, it's best to just leave them alone. If you fight, they'll only fight back. Hope this helps! ^_^ .::Breezy::."

"Copy cats has become a very serious issue among our Pico community. I went through this very unfortunate problem a few months ago when I was still writing for PicoStyle with a fan that became obsessed with me. The person pretending to be me, no only very cleverly copied my Pico but me profile as well. After A while not only was she pretending to be me but started posting messages and sending me letters of very offensive content. This hurts our image very much due to the fact that some people will eventually be fooled, and believe me, this "POSERS" go out there and will intentionally behave in a way to purposely hurt our image. I handle the situation by not giving in to my poser's provocations, thankfully my poser got tired and moved on. I ask you my dear Picos to always pay close attention to who approaches you . Make sure that you are really talking to the right person and not an impostor. There should be clues that will give them away. Maybe their behavior or the way the communicate, just remember to keep your eyes open and we will all be safe :)"

"You may or may not know, I have had many people copy me.When it first started, I felt aggravated and anoyed because o have my own, unique sytle. now as time has gone by I have realized how ever much people will copy my look, or steal my name It does not matter, because I am my own person and no body can take that away from me-LBP"

"I once had an experience of having an impostor. she wrote in her pico profile intro that she used to be nom2 and her house was featured on a blog. she even wrote on my wall that i copied her house which in fact she did to mine. I just laughed at it and gave her my dosage of my medicine. i wrote on her message board too and told her i don't know what's happening with her, and why she is pretending to be me. i even showed her house and profile to my friends and made a good laugh on it. That's when i remembered, the reason why she kept on visiting my house often was to copy it. i just deleted her on my list and after a week, she went back to normal. :)"

"well impostors are such a very uncomfortable people but though they give you strength through stuff, it is very nice of them to admire who they copy, impostors could be annoying or uncomfortable but they are fans who admire and look up [to] you!!!!!!!!^^"
A word from Catero...
"Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery; but it gets annoying. At the Picostyle blog, we recently had to deal with a situation where an admirer of the blog copied some of our posts word-for-word (and used excerpts from other) to her blog without crediting the original source. That's plagiarism ... and plagiarism is illegal. I tried to be respectful and speak to the person to let her know about the gravity of the situation. When she dismissed and ignored me, I filed a DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act) claim through blogger.com to report her content theft and her blog was shut down. If someone has posted your photos, text or other content without your permission and/or without giving you credit, file a DMCA.
Copy catting can come in many forms in everyday life. From the way certain people walk, talk, do their hair, wear their clothes, sing, dance and write. To a degree it's all a part of our lives and we've all dealt with it. We make personal choices based on what we see in or hear from others. The line where one crosses from appreciating admiring a certain philosophy to downright copycatting is when the person pulls in so much from the object of their admiration that they lose traces of their own personality. This is because of insecurity; not being confident in oneself.
Don't let copycatters get you down. If you have grounds to ban or report them, do so. But keep being you. They may be able to copy your look, but they can never copy your spirit and the intangible things that make you "you"."

I want to take this time to thank all my friends that took time out of their day to write for this very special post. You are all amazing and I can never thank you enough! I would like to give an extra special thank you to Catero, I asked my friends to write a small paragraph on their feelings, and he went above and beyond that. Thank you everyone.
